With exactly one month to go before the second-ever World Schools Festival, taking place at the historic Paul Roos Gymnasium, tickets for the eagerly awaited tournament have gone on sale to the public.
Costs for tickets will begin at R40.00 a day for Under 18s, while four-day passes can be purchased for just R200.00. Members of the public are urged to book their attendance sooner rather than later, as the 2018 event was sold out weeks prior to kick-off.

The 2019 edition of the World Schools Festival will see ten powerful South African rugby teams go up against ten sides from around the world in a Ryder Cup-style tournament across four action-packed days in Stellenbosch.
Hosts Paul Roos Gymnasium will make its first appearance at the tournament, as will SACS High School and an SA Invitation XV, while Grey College, Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool (Affies), Monument High School, Glenwood, Paarl Gimnasium, Boland Landbou and Hilton College all return after impressing at the 2018 event.
The foreign contingent of teams feature four from the world’s number-one ranked country in rugby, New Zealand – Christchurch Boys’ High School, Napier Boys’ High School, Southland Boys’ High School and John McGlashan College. Other international outfits include the Africa Pacific Select XV, Hartpury College from England, an Italian All Stars VX, a USA Schools XV and the Zambezi Steelers from Zimbabwe.
Christchurch Boys’ High School, the alma mater of All Black legends Daniel Carter and Owen Franks, can’t wait to return to what has been described as the best schoolboy festival in the world.
“It is a fantastic tournament where we were really looked after,” said Reece Archibald, head coach of the first XV. “Everyone was so friendly, it was incredibly well-organised, and it is an outstanding opportunity for the boys.”
In addition to the twenty schoolboy sides taking part, the tournament will also feature a number of Old Boys teams playing on the final day of the competition, with the likes of Paul Roos, SACS, Affies, Boland Landbou, Grey College, Paarl Gymnasium and Paarl Boys’ High School having all confirmed their attendance.
Fixtures for the World Schools Festival will be released on Tuesday 26 February.
